Industry pundits are forecasting that long-time P&G executive David Taylor may be first in line to take over from current CEO A.G. Lafley if/when he retires from his second round of leadership at the consumer products giant. But Taylor faces a huge challenge as he prepares to move up.

P&G announced that Taylor’s role as group president of global health and grooming has been expanded to include beauty. In his new position as group president of global beauty, grooming and health, he is also in charge of re-energizing the company’s beauty business, which slumped 2% last year.

This move may also indicate that Deb Henretta is out of the running for the top position at P&G, as Taylor has assumed her title. Henretta has been named to a new role as global president for e-commerce, a lateral position.
